Hisakata

A lone aircraft, seen from behind, between a thin layer of land and the dark above

Most of the world is empty and dark. The land, its valleys, and the rocks with tunnels through them lie in a thin layer at the bottom. Fly low and you go fast. Climb and you slow down, and the land fades into the dark below.

How to play

Watch
When it opens, Hisakata flies itself behind the title. Tap once to start the sound; then you can just watch and listen.
Touch and drag
Touch the screen anywhere to take over. Drag to steer, like a flight stick: left or right to bank, down to climb, up to dive.
Tilt
Wave the phone side to side, as if waving goodbye, to steer by tilting it instead. Hold it at a comfortable angle and keep it still for a moment; that becomes level. The CENTER button sets level again. Touch the screen to go back to dragging.
Let go
While you steer by dragging, take your finger off for about four seconds and Hisakata flies itself again, from where you are.
Time
When you fly by hand, a countdown starts once you first come down near the ground. Flying through a ring adds time. When it runs out, the flight ends. While Hisakata flies itself, there is no countdown.
After a crash
Tap to start again from the beginning. Or leave it alone for a few seconds: Hisakata takes over and comes back down out of the dark above, where you fell.

Sound

The sound is synthesized on the device as you fly; there are no recordings. Headphones are worth it.

Privacy

Hisakata collects nothing, sends nothing, and saves no settings, scores or progress.
